Theses shock gloves are inspired by the Spy Show Archer, I’ll attach a clip if I can figure out how to edit one. There basically boxing gloves with a stun gun attached. They sound really scary when the stun gun is turned on. I spaced the wires far enough apart that they don’t arc unless there touching something.

**UPDATE** Don't use telephone wire. it doesn't like flexing and will snap. I should have expected this. I need to redo mine with braided wire.

Step 1: Design a Template

I found that with this stun gun if the contacts are closer than an inch apart they will arc. I’m not sure if not arcing is harder on the stun gun but it seems to be fine. If it arced it would only arc in one spot , not consistently all over. I was initially going to make stripes down the glove but thought a lightning bolt design would look cooler. The lightning bolt will connect to one terminal of the stun gun and the circle around the outside is connected to the other. The circle on the template is one inch diameter so that I can check that the wires don’t get to close together.

Step 2: Sew Contacts

To sew the designs I wrapped wire around a needle so that it would work like thread. I left the insulation on the leads to the wire so that they wouldn’t short. The sewing is nothing fancy. I did try to end a stitch on a corner so that it would be stronger. After I went around the outline once I did the opposite so that I could fill in the gaps. At the end I wrapped the wire for a knot.

Step 3: Modify Stun Gun Switch

There were a couple things I tried to do for this step. I tried to add a switch on the high voltage side so that I could make one glove all positive and the other negative but as I anticipated the contacts were closer than an inch so the current just arced through the switch. I’m glad I figured that out before putting the glove on.
The switch that comes on the stun gun is a momentary switch but I need it to stay on after I turn it on. Since there are 2 switches to begin with I thought about just shorting through the second one but replacing the switch with a different one will help prevent an accidental turn on.

My multimeter doesn’t go up to 4 million volts so I bet it would break it to try and see which direction is positive.
I used speaker cable to attach the two gloves together. And the wire used to sew the shapes is from a telephone line.

Step 4: Attach Taser

To attach the stun gun to the glove I used schoe goo because it says it works on vinyl and leather. I scuffed up the surfaces then glued them. It didn’t feel like it will stay after a few punches so I reinforced it by sewing around the stun gun.
