Introduction: Simple 3D Printed Water Wheel Generator

A simple 3d printed water wheel that generates small amounts of electricity. it generates it with a cheap 3v motor that you can get off of amazon.

Supplies

3D printer

3D printer filament

super glue (or other brands)

water proof tape

3X elastic bands

Step 1: Print Files

print the following files at 75% scale - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7715

print the following files at 100% scale - https://www.printables.com/model/231234-stand-for-water-wheel

Step 2: Putting Together Water Wheel

Snap (or glue) 2 water wheel pieces together

Step 3: Water Proofing Motor

Cover the 3v motor vents with the water proof tape (I used gorilla tape) shown in first photo. Next take a second piece of tape to cover up where the plastic and metal meet shown in the picture above.

Step 4: Attaching Motor to Water Wheel

add a bit of super glue to one of the holes in the water wheel. Add one elastic band on motor shaft to add a bit of space shown in picture. Next place 3v motor inside hole with super glue and secure with elastic bands like in the picture.

Step 5: Finishing

glue or tape motor to stand and spray water on water wheel. now you should have a working generator and have electricity from the metal contacts on the motor.
