Step 2: Gather Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
Step 3: Preheat Oven to 375 Degrees
Step 4: Add Your First Ingredients
Add to a large bowl
- 1 cup of butter (softening butter in the microwave will make mixing easier)
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 1 cup of white sugar
- 1 cup of peanut butter
- 1 tsp vanilla
Step 5: Mix
Use an electric mixer to incorporate the ingredients into a smooth, consistent mixture.
* If you do not have an electric mixer this process can be done by hand, but it will take more time.
Step 6: Add and Mix Eggs
Add two, whole eggs and thoroughly mix them into the batter - using an electric mixer or stirring spoon.
Step 7: Start Dry Ingredients
Add to a separate container
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
Lightly mix these ingredients by hand, incorporating them evenly
Step 8: Add Dry Ingredients to the Peanut Butter Mixture
Add the flour mixture from your second bowl, to the peanut butter mixture in the first bowl. Use a stirring spoon to mix, until the dough is smooth and consistent.
Step 9: Form the Cookies
Line a sheet pan with parchment paper, or coat with cooking spray. Form the dough into balls using a cookie scoop or hands. Place them about 2 inches apart.
Step 10: Flatten
Use a fork to slightly flatten the cookies. They should be about 2 inches in diameter after this step. To further enhance your cookies, lightly sprinkle sugar on top of them.
Step 11: Bake
Place the pan into the 375 degree oven for 7-10 minutes, or until the cookies are lightly browned around the edges.
Step 12: Remove Cookies From the Oven
When the cookies are done, carefully take them out using oven mitts. Let the cookies cool on the pan for a couple minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack using a spatula.
After the cookies finish cooling, they are ready to eat!
