Today I will share the experience of making a slide window for the national headquarter of Skadix Cultural Asociation in Spain. As we can see, the window is maked with recycled materials from a closet and a blackboard.

Hoy voy a compartir la experiencia de hacer una ventana corredera para la sede nacional de Asociación Cultural Skadix en España. Como podemos ver, la ventana esta hecha con materiales reciclados de un armario y una pizarra.

Step 1: Step 1: Looking the Situation

We have a naked window in one of our clasrooms, so we wanted to give her a better looking. We mesured the wall and we realised that we had 2 meters of working space (because of a door), so we designed a solution.

Tenemos una ventana desnuda en una de nuestras clases, así que quisimos darle un mejor aspecto. Medimos el muro y nos dimos cuenta de que teníamos 2 metros de espacio aprovechable (por una puerta), así que diseñamos una solución.

Step 2: Step 2: Getting the Materials

Here we can see the materials that we have used for this project. We needed:

Materials:
2x 2m Blackboard metal sticks for do the rails
2x 2m wood sticks (in my case, 4x 1m wood sticks, but it works fine)
Screws
spikes (optional)
Blocks

NOTE: The size of the sticks will depend of your window

Tools:
saw
screwdriver
drill

Aquí podemos ver los materiales que hemos usado para el proyecto. Necesitamos:

Materiales:
2x 2 metros de varillas metálicas de la pizarra para hacer los railes
2x 2 metros de varilla de madera (en mi caso fueron cuatro varillas de un metro, pero va bien)
tornillos
alcayatas (opcional)
tacos

NOTA: La medida de las varillas va a depender de nuestra ventana

destornillador
taladro

Step 3: Step 3: Putting All Together

First off all we need to build the rails. We will join together the wood and metal sticks. The idea is to use the wood sticks for fixing the structure into the wall. For fixing we will drill holes into the wall and use the screws and pikes for hold the rail. Be carefull with the distance beetween rails! Once you hace your rails, you can install the closet doors and enjoy your sliding Window.

Antes que nada necesitas construir los railes. Vamos a unir las varillas de madera y de metal. La idea es usar las varillas de madera para fijar la estructura en la pared. Para unirla vamos a taladrar agujeros en la pared y usar los tornillos y alcayatas para aguantar el rail. ¡Ten cuidado con la distancia entre los railes! Una vez tengas los railes, puedes colocar las puertas de armario y disfrutar de tu ventana corredera.
