Slouchy Triangle Beanie Crochet Pattern

The following pattern is very easy and simple crochet pattern. It is perfect for those who are new to crocheting and are interested in making their first project.

Difficulty Level: Beginner

You Will Need:

Yarn medium worsted weight (#4) in any color (I used Red Heart Super Saver in Beige)

Crochet Hook J/10 6.00 mm

Abbreviations and Stitches Used:

SC – single crochet, DC – double crochet, CH – chain, Sl st – slip stitch,

* * repeat instructions between asterisks as many times as directed or repeat from a given set of instructions

Directions:

Round #1: CH 3, DC 11 in third stitch from hook, Sl st at the end to join.

Round #2: CH 3, DC in next stitch, CH 1. * DC 2 in each stich and CH 1. Repeat from *
11 times and Sl st at the end to join.

Round #3: CH 3, DC 2 in next stitch, CH 2. * DC 1 in next stitch and DC 2 in next stitch. CH 2 skip a stich. Repeat from * 11 times and Sl st at the end to join.

Round #4: CH 3, DC 1 in next stitch and DC 2 in next stitch, CH 2. * DC 1 in next 2 stitches and DC 2 in next stitch. CH 2 and skip 2 stitches. Repeat from * 11 times and Sl st at the end to join.

Round #5: CH 3, DC 1 in next 2 stitches and DC 2 in next stitch, CH 2. * DC 1 in next 3 stitches and DC 2 in next stitch. CH 2 and skip 2 stitches. Repeat from * 11 times and Sl st at the end to join.

Round #6: CH 3, DC 1 in next 3 stitches and DC 2 in next stitch, CH 2. * DC 1 in next
4 stitches and DC 2 in next stitch. CH 2 and skip 2 stitches. Repeat from * 11 times and Sl st at the end to join.

Round #7: CH 3, DC 1 in next 4 stiches and DC 2 in next stich, CH 2. * DC 1 in next 5 stitches and DC 2 in next stitch. CH 2 and skip 2 stiches. Repeat from * 11 times and Sl st at the end to join.

Round #8: CH 3, DC 1 in next 5 stitches and DC 2 in next stich, CH 2. * DC 1 in next 6 stitches and DC 2 in next stich. CH 2 and skip 2 stitches. Repeat from * 11 times and Sl st at the end to join. This will be your last round of increasing.

Round #9: CH 3, DC 1 in next 7 stitches, CH 2. * DC 1 in next 8 stitches. CH 2 and skip 2 stitches. Repeat from * 11 times and Sl st at the end to join.

Round #10-11: Repeat round 9.

Round #12: CH 2, SC in every stitch around. Sl st at the end to join.

Round #13: CH 2, SC in every other stitch around. Sl st at the end to join.

Round #14: CH 2, SC in next stitch. * Skip a stitch SC, skip a stitch SC 2. Repeat from * all around. Sl st at the end to join. Fasten off.

Tips:

If you would like to make this slouch beanie into a beret all you would need to do is use a smaller crochet hook size, such as an H/8 – 5 mm.

To make a beanie that is slouchier feel free to repeat round # 9 as many times as you like. To make a beanie that is less slouchy repeat round # 9 once.

Adjustments: If the beanie is too large repeat round # 13. If it is too small, for round #14 CH 2, skip a stich and SC 2 all around.
