Introduction: Smart Board Pointer

The instructable I have created is a smartboard pointer. I have created this device for students that have Brittle bone disease or another disability that make it difficult for them to lift their hands. Which means they cannot lift their arm to touch the smart board screen. Therefore, I have created a smartboard pointer that will assist these students in participating in class.

Supplies

2 Self Grip Straps

2 Plastic Tubes: One wider and longer, one shorter and skinner

1 Small Cloth Piece

1 pair of scissors

Velcro Roll

Super Glue

Step 1: Step 1

Cut the self grip straps to fit around the individual's wrist and fingers. It must be able to wrap around the whole wrist and fingers.

Step 2: Step 2

Cut a small slick in the middle of the long plastic tube and a small piece from the bottom. Set aside the small piece.

Step 3: Step 3

Insert the shorter skinnier tube inside the longer thicker tube.

Step 4: Step 4

Super glue the tubes on the self grip straps.

Step 5: Step 5

Place Velcro on the sides of the self grip straps.

Step 6: Step 6

Place small cloth at the end of the tube and super glue it to the tip of the tube.

Step 7: Step 7

When the smaller tube shoots out, place the cut piece from the larger tube inside the cut slick to prevent the smaller tube from falling back inside the larger tube.

Step 8: Special Addional Instructions

The individual using this instructable may require assistance putting it on. Assistance may be needed to strap the self grips straps together by using the velcro to hold it close. It's important when using it that the individual leans it towards the ground so the smaller tube can shoot out. Once the smaller tube is sticking out, place the cut piece from the larger tube in the cut slick on the larger tube to prevent the smaller tube from falling back down inside the larger tube. Once that is complete, lift hand slightly up and you're ready to point and touch the smart board!
