Introduction: Snickers Bars

Snickers, as we know them, have to be one of the most popular candy bars around the world.

I want to show you my own version of them, of which my boyfriend wishes to always have a tray of in the fridge.

And the best of all, they are extremely healthy compared to the original as well as extremely easy, quick to make. No fancy ingridients, no difficult steps or even baking. They might not be twins on the outside, but taste exactly the same.

I hope you like them just as much, and don't forget to have fun in the process of making them as well! :)

Supplies

  • 200g dates
  • 80g nuts (preferably a mixture of different ones)
  • 100g oats
  • 50g dark chocolate
  • 2 tablespoons of peanut butter
  • optional: a sweetener of your choice (although the chocolate and dates make it sweet enough, I promise)

Step 1: Blend It Up

Blend the dates and nuts in your processor, how small is based on your taste if you'd like them in a more chewy consistency with chunks or flour like.

You can also just chop the dates up if your blender isn't strong enoug, or soften them up in water over night.

Finally, blend the oats into a flour consistency as well.

Step 2: Form the Bars

Once you mixed the nuts, dates and oat flour together you should be able to get a sticky dough, if it's too dry to form you can alaways add a splash of water to it.

Form the dough into Snickers-like bars or just spread it out in a baking form, that'd be the easier way for you to just create one plate and cut it up into pieces after finished.

Step 3: Final Steps

Cover your Snickers bars with a coat of peanut butter, into which you could add an optional sweetener if you'd like to sweeten it up a little more.

Finally melt some chocolate of your choice and coat the bars with it. Put everything into the fridge for 20-30 minutes and your quick, healthy Snickers bars should be ready to be enjoyed! :)
