Introduction: Soft Paratha Recipe

This is an easy recipe to make soft parathas using plain flour as the base ingredient!

Step 1: Ingredients (This Recipe Makes 12-15 Parathas, Depending on the Size)

1. 2 cups plain flour

2. 1/2 teaspoon of sugar (This recipe used raw sugar)

3. 1 teaspoon of salt

4. 1/2 cup oil (this recipe used vegetable oil, although any oil can be used)

5. 2 cups lukewarm water

Step 2: Making the Paratha Dough

1. Add the 2 cups of plain flour to a bowl

2. Add the salt and sugar to the flour and mix well

3. Add 1 tablespoon of oil initially to the flour and combine

4. Heat the 2 cups of water until warm and start to slowly add it to the flour and mixing with hands

5. Add another tablespoon of oil while kneading, adding a total of 4 tablespoons in the process of kneading

6. Once kneaded into a smooth a soft dough, add another tablespoon of oil on top an cover with a cling wrap and let sit anywhere between 2 hours and overnight before making the parathas

Step 3: Rolling Out the Dough

1. Take a medium sized ball of dough and roll out, patting with plain flour, into an oval shape

2. For a more softer and flaky finish fold the rolled out dough into four, to obtain a triangular shape

3. Roll the parathas into a triangular shape to the desired thickness

Step 4: Making the Parathas

1. Heat a pan an transfer the rolled out paratha to it

2. Add a teaspoon of oil around the paratha and wait for it to raise

3. Turn the paratha over for the other side to cook and cook until both sides are brown

4. Serve hot with any Indian side and enjoy (Can be eaten by itself as well)
