Introduction: Soft Pretzel - Taste Just Like the Mall Version

It is a lot cheaper making them at home and it taste just like the mall version.


  • 200g All-purpose flour
  • 110g water
  • 20g fine sugar
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp Instant yeast
  • 20g Butter

Crust Browning (Baking soda solution):

  • 250g Hot water (70°C)
  • 25g Baking soda

Cinnamon Sugar Coating:

  • ½ Tbsp Butter (melted)
  • 25g Brown sugar
  • ¼ tsp Ground Cinnamon

Step 1: Mix Ingredients

Add instant yeast, water, sugar and salt, stir until all yeast completely dissolved.

Step 2: Dough

Add all-purpose flour and knead to form dough, mix with butter, and continue to knead until smooth and elastic dough is formed. Cover and proof for 60 minutes.

Step 3: Pretzel Coating

Mix light brown sugar with ground cinnamon.

Step 4: Browning Solution

Baking soda with hot water at 70°C.

Step 5: ​Divide Dough

Divide dough and rest for 15 minutes.

Step 6: Shape Pretzel

Roll dough into long strips.Twist strips into Pretzel shape.

Step 7: Browning Solution

Dip each Pretzel into baking soda solution.

Step 8: Baking

Bake for 12 minutes in a preheated oven at 220℃/425F°. Brush with melted butter, coat with cinnamon sugar.
