Introduction: Spicy Tequila Martini Recipe
My wife Patty and I went to a really cool cocktail bar in Boston with some friends called ‘Drink‘. The catch is they don’t really have a cocktail menu. Instead, you tell them what type of flavors you like or what you’re in the mood for. If you’re from the Boston area I recommend you check it out. Anyway, when it was my turn to order I said I wanted something with tequila, to which they replied with “how do you feel about spicy?” I said let’s do it!
The drink was a spicy jalapeño infused tequila cocktail served straight up in a martini glass. That’s what inspired my variation. I added elderflower liquor instead of triple sec along with lime juice and simple syrup. The result is pretty good. The jalapeño is very subtle if you make this using my method. It just adds a slight kick at the end. If you soak the jalapeños in tequila for a few hours or overnight then you’re going to get more heat. I’m seeing tequila used in martini’s more often these days. It tastes like a variation of a stronger margarita with no ice. As obvious as that sounds. I really recommend it if you’re a tequila lover.
