Introduction: Spinach Bites

I am going to solve your confusion regarding what to prepare in breakfast which is tasty, yummy and really healthy. Spinach is very healthy and full of nutrition and also it is said that green leafy vegetables must be part of our food. Then what for we are waiting let’s make a healthy breakfast and try my recipe…. Spinach Bites. The quantity of material used here is sufficient for 3 people’s breakfast.

Supplies

Fresh spinach leaves - 250 gms

Coarse Wheat Flour – 200 gms

Rice – 50 gms

Split Chickpeas – 25 gms

Toor dal – 10 gms

Urad dal – 10 gms

1 tablespoon red chili powder

½ tablespoon turmeric powder

1 tablespoon coriander powder

1 tablespoon sugar

1 tablespoon paste of ginger and green chili

7 tablespoon of oil 

4 tablespoon of curd

½ tablespoon Carom seeds

salt, water, Corriander leaves, Mustard seeds

Dry Coconut Flakes, Asafoetida, sesame seed & Tomato Sauce.

Step 1: Cutting Spinach

First clean fresh spinach leaves with little warm water. Then cut it into small small pieces as shown in image.

Step 2: Prepare Dough

Take following material in right quantity:

1)     Coarse Wheat Flour – 200 gms

2)     Take the following ingredients and grind them :

·        Rice – 50 gms

·        Split Chickpeas – 25 gms

·        Toor dal – 10 gms

·        Urad dal – 10 gms

3)     Mix the both flour and add 1 tablespoon red chili powder, ½ tablespoon turmeric powder, 1 tablespoon coriander powder, salt as per taste, ½ tablespoon Carom seeds, 1 tablespoon sugar, 1 tablespoon paste of ginger and green chili. You can also add garlic paste it is totally optional.

4)     Add 3 tablespoon of oil and mix it well.

Step 3: Mix Spinach With Dough

1)     In above mixture add 4 tablespoon of curd, pieces of spinach, water as needed.

2)     Make the dough as soft as possible.

Step 4: Roll Making

1)     Make the rolls of the dough as shown in the picture.

2)     Then steam the rolls for approx 30 minutes.

3)     Try to cut the small piece with the help of knife to check whether it is properly cooked or not. If it is properly cooked then rolls will not be sticky. Let it reach room temperature.

4)     Cut the small round shape pieces of the rolls.

Step 5: Shallow Fry With Tempering

1)     Take 4 tablespoon of oil and heat it then add 1 tablespoon mustard seeds, 1 tablespoon sesame seed and pinch of Asafoetida till they turn aromatic. You can also add curry leaves.

2)      Then add steamed pieces of Spinach roll.

3)     Mix it well until pieces becomes crispy.

Step 6: Decorating & Serving

Finally crispy Spinach Bites are ready decorate it in plate and garnish it with Dry Coconut Flakes and Coriander Leaves. Serve it with Tomato Sauce. It tastes really yummy!!!!!
