Introduction: Sponge Brush Holder
Annoyed by using one-time sponge brushes I created this sponge brush clip to avoid waste as much as possible.
Supplies
3D printer
PLA
rubber band
household sponge
Step 1: Assembling the Clip
Print the two pieces, rafts and supports are not needed, I used standard PLA with a 0.4 mm nozzle and 0.15 mm layer height. Join them with a rubber band of your favorite color as displayed in the photos. A small rubber band with around 30 mm diameter wrapped around three times worked well in my case.
Step 2: Preparing the Sponge
Cut a standard household sponge as shown in the pictures. I found a small bread knife is best for this. Use scissors to form the tipp. You can clean used sponges in the dishwasher and re-use them as sponge brushes.
Step 3: Clip and Done
Clip the sponge piece into the clip and you are ready to go.
Step 4: Form Different Tips
You can also form other tips by cutting and folding different pieces of sponge.

Nice job! What program did you use to design the 3D printed part?

Currently I use Fusion 360. If you can live with the strong online binding and cloud storage (which I'm not the greatest fan of) it's currently the best program for non-commercial 3D projects in my opinion.
