Introduction: Stackable Wooden Rack

About: Designer, maker, Hobbyist.

This is my Furniture project on instructable .I want to make something out of Wood,metal,3d printing.

So, i design This stackable Rack using 3d printing joints, wooden sticks and plywood sheet.

Use some metal hardware screws for joining.

Using 3d printing parts we make small parts in multiple quantity. we can make joinery parts with 3d printing and make furniture using wooden parts.

Supplies

1> Wooden sticks 25 mm diameter & 1 ft length

2> Plywood pieces( 350 x 650 mm)

3> laptop for 3D design ( If you nee to make custom Joint)

4> 3D Printer

Step 1: Design in Tinkercad.

Using size of stick we design a connector to connect stick and plywood for making Rack.

I use 25 mm diameter stick.

First make 25 mm Circle with 30 mm height with hole command.

Make another circle 32mm dia and 25 mm height with solid command.

Align them and displace 1st cylinder 4mm up.

Combine both cylinder and make 1 solid cylinder.

Now our 25 mm stick will fit inside this cylinder.

For connect with ply we make 3 Screw connector around the cylinder.

First make square 50x50 mm

Draw cylinder 5mm in dia and 10 mm in length.

Place it as per require to join 3d printed joint part with plywood sheet.

Join all of them

Now you have your object ready.

Step 2: Use Fusion360 to Upgrade Design.

Use Fusion360 to upgrade design with new commands.

I want to make this project in real life so we need design, Render, Drawings and simulation workspaces to ensure project is ready for real life making and sustainable with Loads.

I upgrade joint design in Fusion360 to make it strong in design.

Step 3: Assembly in Tinkercad VS Fusion360

We have 3 different part plywood, stick and 3d printed joint.

I use joint command to assemble all part in place.

Step 4: Rendering

Use wooden appearance for Plywood and wooden stick and Plastic for 3D joinery part.

Step 5: Drawing.

Use drawing workspace for 3D Joint design.

Step 6: Export STL File for 3d Print.

Select body and Export file as mesh and select STL(Binary ) for make 3d printable file.

Joinery 3d printed part file attach below.
