Introduction: Sugar Cookie Puzzle
Today I will show you how to make a sugar cookie puzzle
Step 1: Ingredients
To make the sugar cookies you will need 16 tablespoons of butter in cubes, 2/3 of superfine sugar, 1 egg yolk, one teaspoon of vanilla extract and two cups of all-purpose flour
Step 2: Making the Dough
First, beat the butter and sugar together in a bowl until they are fully mixed. Then, add the egg yolk and the vanilla extract and stir them in. Next, sift the flower and mix again to make the dough. With your hands, bring the dough together and mold it into a ball. Lastly, wrap up the dough with plastic wrap and put it in the fridge for 30 minutes.
Step 3: Baking the Dough
Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and lay the dough on a pan. Roll out the dough about 1/4 of an inch thick and bake them for about 8 to 10 minutes.
Step 4: Cutting Out the Shapes of Your Puzzle
Start off by printing out the shape of the puzzle and lay a sheet of transparent baking paper on top of it, then, trace the puzzle shape on the baking paper with a pencil. After the shape is drawn on the baking paper place the baking paper on the cookie and with a razor knife, cut out the puzzle pieces using the baking paper as a guide.
Step 5: Making the Frosting
To make the icing sugar you will need to put a quarter cup of butter, 2 cups of icing sugar and two teaspoons of milk in a bowl and mix until it becomes frosting. Then, split the sugar in how many bowls you want and put some food coloring to dye the frosting
Step 6: Spreading the Frosting Onto the Cookies
To spread the frosting you will need a butter knife and a cup of hot water, let the butter knife sit in the water to heat up and the take it out and put some frosting on the knife and spread it evenly across one puzzle piece. Let the knife sit in the hot water for 30 seconds and continue the process until every puzzle piece is covered with frosting
Step 7: Done!
Your puzzle sugar cookies are done!
