Introduction: Super Easy Soft Serve Ice Cream
I just got a mini ice cream maker, so I've been experimenting with the flavors lately. This ice cream recipe is the very first recipe that I tried out. It's extremely easy to make, so for all those beginner ice cream makers, this instructable is for you.
2 cups canned coconut milk
1 cup almond milk
3/4 cup sugar
1 tbsp vanilla extract
Ice cream maker
Step 1: Liquids
Pour the heavy cream and almond milk into a bowl. Mix well.
Step 2: Sugary Goodness
Add the sugar to the liquids and stir until it's dissolved. Taste the mixture to test its texture. If it tastes grainy, continue stirring the mixture until the grainy texture goes away.
Step 3: Vanilla
Add the vanilla to the bowl and stir well.
Step 4: Cool Down
Refrigerate the ice cream mixture for at least 30 minutes. The longer you chill your ice cream, the thicker the consistency of your ice cream. The amount of time you cool your ice cream for depends on how creamy you want your ice cream to be.
Step 5: Ice Cream Machine
Pour your chilled vanilla ice cream mixture into your ice cream maker. Turn on the machine and operate it according the user's manual. Once the machine is done churning the mix, take your spoon and dig in! Vanilla ice cream is on the menu.
Step 6: Variations
Before I end this instructable, I thought I would point out the different ways you could tweak this recipe. I've tried some of these myself, and they've worked out pretty well. For example, if you add cocoa powder to the mixture, you'll end up with chocolate ice cream. For strawberry ice cream, simply add sliced strawberries to the mixture and stir well. I'm also thinking of adding crushed cookie crumbs to get cookie-and-cream-flavored ice cream. I'd love to hear of any other flavors you guys have tried out, so that everyone else (including me) can enjoy them too!
