Introduction: The Rubik's Cube Pie

To make this pie we will divide it in 2 main components:
The hand and the cube itself.

So get prepared for a tasty adventure.

Step 1: Basic Ingredients

Hand:

For this part you will need:

  • 90g of butter (the equivalent of one medium size bar)
  • Two table spoons of sugar
  • One stack of María cookies or sweet cookies (Also known Marie biscuit)
  • Condensed milk
  • A plastic glove
  • A silicon brush
  • Wheat flour.

For the Lemon Pie cube:
You will need...

  • The juice of five lemons
  • Four packets of unflavored gelatin
  • A bar of cream cheese
  • Condensed milk
  • Food colorant (red, green, yellow, blue, black and orange)
  • A small brush for aplying the colorant
  • And a blender.

Step 2: Let´s Start With the Hand (Base of the Pie)

The procedure of the hand is very simple

First you need to smash the cookies using a zipplock bag and a roller.

Step 3: Simple Mix

Then in a bowl add the butter, the sugar and the smashed cookies and mix them until you have an uniform paste.

Step 4: Making the Structure of a Hand...

Next fill the plastic glove with the flour and make sure not to leave air pockets. We will use it as a base for the hand.

After that use the silicone brush and soak the glove with the condensed milk and sprinkle the cookie mix until all the glove is covered.

Step 5: Final Adjustments for the Hand (base)

Keep modeling the hand until you have the position you like, finally freeze. This will toughen the glove and make it almost solid.

Step 6: Now Let's Make the Rubik's Cube! (Lemon Pie)

The first thing you need to do is hydrate the gelatin with cold water in a glass and warm it up in a Water Bath until it turns liquid.

Step 7: Bring Your Blender!

Pour it into the blender and add the cheese, half a cup of condensed milk and mix them.

Add the lemon juice and mix again.

Step 8: When Everything Is Well Mixed Pour It in a Square Mould.

If the mould isn´t totaly square you can cut the sides of the cake to the right shape.

Put it in the refrigerator for about 3 hours or until its hard enough to handle it.

Step 9: Time to Paint :)

Prepare the food colorant in individual containers using just a little bit of water,

First paint the sides making sure that the white side is touching the bottom of the plate. When the faces are dry then you can continue painting the individual lines of the rubik's cube using the black colorant.
Wait until all is dry.

Step 10: Putting Everything Together

The last thing you need to do is carefully putting the pie on the freezed hand and making sure it´s stable.
And enjoy it knowing that you make it and show it to your friends and family.
