Introduction: Therapeutic Slime

Slime has been an upcoming project on social media. It has been made and used in numerous ways. Therapeutic slime is specially intended for adults dealing with anxiety and stress which would like to experiment something out of the ordinary yet soothing to one's senses.

Ingredients

  • PVA glue
  • Contact lens solution contains either sodium borate, or boric acid
  • Warm water
  • Baking soda
  • Glitter
  • Essential Oil
  • teaspoon
  • 1/4 cup measuring cup
  • Clean mixing bowl
  • Clean mixing utensil
  • Air tight container

Step 1:

Add 1/4 cup of warm water.

Step 2:

Dissolve 1 teaspoon of baking soda into the warm water.
Make sure the baking soda is dissolved completely.

Step 3:

Add 5oz of glue which is equal to an entire bottle of Elmer's school bottle for reference.

Step 4:

Add in the baking soda solution into the mixing bowl. Mix throughly until the mixture is fully homogenous.

Step 5:

Slowly start adding contact lens solution into the mixture. This will slowly thicken the mixture. Make sure to keep mixing in between. Repeat this process until the slime starts to pull away from the bowl.

Step 6:

When the slime starts pulling away from the bowl, you can start to touch the slime. Keep adding the activator "Contact lens solution" until it becomes less sticky. You may start kneading with your hands if desired.

Step 7:

Add in glitter of your choice and keep kneading the slime with your hands. If sticky, add in more activator.

Step 8:

Add in an essential oil of your choice! We used a calming oil containing lavender and peppermint.

Step 9:

Store slime in an air tight container. To make slime clear you wait for 3-7 until all the bubbles dissolve.

Enjoy a calming and soothing therapeutic slime!
