Introduction: Tinkercad: Design a Home for Your Pet
TINKERCAD is an online computer aided design (CAD) program that allows you to design in 3D. Engineers, architects, electricians, plumbers and more use this type of software in their work. Tinkercad is a student version of AutoDesk, a popular computer aided design software used by professionals.
Set up a teacher account and a class in Tinkercad. Have students sign into Tinkercad and spend several class periods or home work sessions familiarizing themselves with Tinkercad. Then have students make their own 3D design using their new CAD skills!
Step 1: STEP ONE - THREE
Sign into your Tinkecad account using the nickname your teacher gave you.
Spend some time working through the Starters.
Next time you log into Tinkercad try two or three of the lessons that walks you through how to make an object.
When you log in to Tinkercad for a third time, try the Build A Tinkercad House Project.
Step 2: STEP FOUR
Now it's your turn to be creative! Design a habitat or home for your pet or an imaginary creature. Include shelter, food, toys and recreational equipment if you like!
Step 3: TURN IN YOUR WORK
Once you have completed your project, send it to me by downloading a .png file.
