Tiny 3D Printed Notepad With Pencil Holder!

Do you ever simply need to get an idea down, but you never can get a notepad small enough to fit in your pocket? Do you have one, but it doesn't have a pencil holder? Even in the age of smartphones, Siri isn't exactly that accurate and who wants to go to all the trouble of doing things like, say, typing a passcode?

Well, worry no more because I have created the perfect solution for all your tiny-notepad needs. Easily jot down notes, doodles or even shopping lists with this simple (and tiny) build. All you need are basic office/school supplies and a 3D printer.

Step 1: Tools and Materials

To build the Tiny Notepad you will need:

Tools:

• Scissors
• Ruler
• 3D Printer and Filament
• Some way to cut the pencil (I just broke it with my hands)

Materials:

• Pencil
• Glue stick
• Sticky Notes

Step 2: Measure and Cut the Sticky Note

FIrst, take 20 notes from the pack. A normal pack is 60 sheets, so you can do this 3 times. Then, measure out a 3x3 cm square in a top corner of the section you removed. Cut this square out and keep it for later. You can also cut out the other corner of the sticky note, but be sure not to cut out either bottom corner because it would not have the sticky backing.

Step 3: Cut the Pencil

Cut the pencil on the eraser side to shorten it to about 5 cm. You can use any method you and for cutting the pencil. I sort of crimped the edges of it with scissors and broke it in half. Next, sharpen the pencil. Be sure that it is big enough to write with.

Step 4: 3D Print the Body

To assemble everything together, you will need to print the body. You can download the file (STL) here.

Step 5: Glue on the Notepad

Remember we saved the square of sticky notes from step 2? Well, get that back out so we can glue it on to the body. Put glue stick on the already-sticky side of the sticky notes and glue that to the body. Be sure that the binding is facing the same direction as the hole in the body!

Step 6: Finish!

Wow, you're on the final step! Good job!

Now, we don't want to lose the pencil. So, I've put a pencil hole in the body just for that! Simply insert the pencil sharp-end-down. It holds in pencils surprisingly well. Now you're done!
