Introduction: Upcycling Plastic Bags

You can saw many kinds of bags with a regular sewing machine. Choose one that seems strong enough to hold the stitches. The great thing about this project is that it take only 10 minutes to make, and you only need a used plastic bag, a thread, and scissors.
The bag seems to be very strong, however, the specific material I chose wasn't a very good one - some of the color ware off and may stain. I guess you just need to choose a better material than I did!

Step 1: Choosing the Right Material

I was cleaning my balcony garden, and just before throwing away some old empty bags, I've decided to try and make something new out of them.

Step 2: Cut the Material

No need to be too precise.
It's better to use the original bag's edges - both very strong and saves time sewing.
I made the bag 44 x 44 cm. Don't forget to leave 1-2 cm seem allowances. Fold inside and sew.
No need for any zig-zagging, as the plastic won't fray...

Step 3: Making the Straps

Instead of using pre made straps, I decided to use straps cut from the bag itself. I simply used a double layer of plastic to make the straps stronger.

Step 4: Done!
