Visual Stand "Evolution of the Computer Mouse"

Computer technology are out of place and are rapidly evolving. Those gadgets that were modern and powerful yesterday, they just don't fit in time today, and go back in time. But without the knowledge of the past, there is no future! So, we came up with an idea how to organize a visual stand for students on the topic: "Evolution of the Computer Mouse" for the school IT classroom.

Step 1: Step 1:Idea on Paper

What do you need for great instruction? In our opinion the main are: idea and mood! Only when there is a first and a second is waiting for you a great result! Also needed: pencil, eraser and a piece of paper.

Step 2: Step 2: Materials & Tools

Materials:

Fibreboard sheet or plywood 680X500 mm, thickness 4-6 mm.

Sticky printing paper (self-adhesive)2 sheets
Picture frame
Screws 2X10 5 pieces
Old mice 9 pieces

Tools:

Pencil
Ruler
Electric jigsaw
Awl
Hand drill
Drill 4mm
Hot glue
Screwdriver
Wirecutter

Step 3: Step 3:Marking the Base

Using a ruler and a pencil, measure and mark the dimensions of the base. According to the size of the frame, we have 680X500 mm. It's easier to do the work on the back of the sheet.

Step 4: Step 4:Cutting the Base

Using the electric jigsaw, we get the base of the stand with dimensions 680X500mm. Remember to wear goggles and turn on exhaust ventilation.

Step 5: Step 5:Drilling Holes

Using a drill with a diameter of 4 mm, we drill six holes at a distance of 80 mm. one from another. They are required to install wires with ports. The distance from the bottom of the stand to the opening line is 170 mm. If you have a power drill it will do it faster.

Step 6: Step 6:Preparation of Mice and Ports

Select and disassemble three mice for the top of the stand. Using a screwdriver, open the housing and disconnect the wire. Extra wires to bite with wirecutter. Now we have exhibits that demonstrate the internal structure and working principle.

Step 7: Step 7:Installation of Parts of the Stand.

A great helper is hot glue! Glue the mice in place, and fix the wires on the back of the stand. We print text about the author of the first computer mouse and other information. We paste the description under the exhibits. Fix the stand in the frame.
