Introduction: Vrat Food - Buckwheat (Kuttu Atta) Puri

This dish is staple food during navratras vrat, a auspicious week of religious importance. It is basically a puri made of buckwheat. However, the process is a bit different from normal puri preparation.

Ingredients :

  • Kuttu Atta : 250 gms
  • Oil/ghee : 100ml
  • Water

Utensils :

  • Non stick kadhai
  • Stable & flat marble plate
  • mesh stariner
  • Casserole for storing

Step 1: Making the Dough

Making the dough for kuttu ka Atta is a very crucial activity. Mix Atta and mashed allo. Now add water in small quantities to knead the dough.

Step 2: Preparing the Round Puri

Take a small round ball from the dough.

You don't need to roll the puri as the dough is very soft. Make circular balls of dough and press it with your hands to give a disc shape.

Step 3: Frying

Heat up the oil for 4-5 mins on medium flame. Put the puri carefully in the oil and fry it.

Change its side once in between. Cook till it turns golden brownish.

Serve with allo subzi and green chutney.
