Introduction: Water Recycling Plant Holder

We made a hanging plant holder out of some plastic containers that were laying around the house. This plant holder uses recycled water from one plant to then water the other one.

Step 1: Gather Your Materials

The first thing that you want to do to create this plant holder is to collect two to three containers. Each one smaller than the one before it. Also, you will need hot glue and a hot glue gone, some string or wire, and some spray paint. Lastly, you will need to find some plants of any kind and some dirt.

Step 2: Assemble Your Plant Holder

For this step you will need your hot glue gun and hot glue, your containers, your string and scissors. The first thing you are going to need to do is use your hot glue gun to melt hole in the top four corners of the small container and the middle of each side on the bottom. Next, you will need to also melt a hole in the top four corners of the large container. After this is done take the small container and poke 4-6 hole in the bottom. Once all of this is finished, take your string and loop it through the holes in the large container and then glue them into the holes that are on the bottom sides of the small container. Last, attach more string to the hole on the four top corners of your small container.

Step 3: Paint Away

For this step we hung our plant holder outside on a tree and then proceeded to spray paint it with white paint. We let this dry over night just to be sure that it was fully dry.

Step 4: Put the Plants In

For this final step you need your dirt and plants. What you will need to do is poor the dirt in both the top and bottom containers and put your plants in both as well. Once this is done you can hang our plant holder and then you are finished!
