Introduction: Weight Lifting Machine on Tinkercad

I decided to make a weight lifting machine on Tinkercad. It moves when someone pulls on the theoretical string. I thought it would be fun because I have always been interested in gears and wheels, so I thought that this would be fun. Plus, I saw one in school, so I kind of know what it looks like.

Supplies

  • a tinkercad account
  • internet access
  • patience

Step 1: Shell

In this step we will make the shell of the machine. Click on the scale square and change the height to 2 millimeters and the length and width to 30 millimeters. Then duplicate it and change the new one to a hole. Change the length and width of the hole to 25 millimeters. Then align them against one of the walls and centered on the other one. Group them. Then duplicate it and raise it 2 millimeters. Without unselecting it, duplicate again until there are 10 of them.

Step 2: The Weights

In this step we will be making the weights for lifting. First, drag out a scale square and make the height one millimeter and the length and width 30.21 and 29.67 millimeters. Put it right under the shape that you have to be the floor. Then pull out another scale square and make it a different color. Make it 5 millimeters tall, and for the length and width, make it 24 and 16.67 millimeters. Then pull out a cylinder hole, and rotate it 90 degrees, and resize it to be 2 millimeters tall, and for the length and width make it 7 and 2 millimeters. Then place it in about the middle of the brick. Group them together. Then duplicate the brick and drag it up. Then duplicate again until you have 5 bricks in total.

Now you want to put the numbers on the bricks to indicate how much weight is being lifted. Put a workplane on one of the bricks. Then drag whatever numbers you want, and resize and position however you want.

Step 3: The Pulley

In this step we will make the actual pulley system that allows people to get the exercise. The first thing you will do is drag out a cylinder and resize it to be 30 millimeters high and for the length and height make it 7 millimeters. Then drag it up to the height of the shell and rotate it about 20 degrees. Drag out a handle and resize it to be 3 millimeters high and make the length and width 12.25 and 3 millimeters. Then duplicate it. Then put them on the pole that sticks up from the shell. Drag out a tube and resize it to be 3 millimeters tall and make the length and width 7 millimeters. Rotate until it can fit in between the two handles. Put it in between the handles.

Step 4: The Peg and Theoretical String

In this step you will make a peg that would attach to the theoretical string and go into one of the bricks so that people can lift weights. First, drag out a cylinder and rotate it 90 degrees and resize it to be 2 millimeters tall and make the length and width 9 and 2 millimeters. This peg would go into one of the holes in the bricks and the string would be attached to it and go up over the pulley and the person would pull on it, therefore getting stronger.

Hope you enjoyed making this instructable! Thanks for designing!
