Introduction: Wooden Jewelry Display

About: I hope i can show you that you really dont need to be a master craftsman to create and build great projects, and hopefully inspire you to start making yourself. I will try upload a video every Monday but due …

So as i start making more and more jewelry and necklace's that i will hopefully sell, i need a way of displaying them.

There is a lot of different ways to do this but i just wanted something simple and effective so i came up with this.

It can hold 4 necklaces and some business card (when i get some anyway)

I hope you enjoy!

Step 1: Cut Scrap to Size

First was cutting down to size, i didnt measure this i just eyeballed it and went with what looked good.

Step 2: Cut Cord Slot

To hang the necklace's on i cut an angled slot in each side so the cord of the necklace can slide in and hold the pendant in the center of the piece of wood.

This lets me highlight the pendant but also show a bit of the cord color and easily remove and change it around.

Step 3: Sand

Now sanding, as the slots for the cord where a little tight i used some 80 grit sandpaper to open them up a bit more.

Then moved onto 120,240, 320, and finished at 500 grit.

Step 4: Angle

To add a little something i planed an angle on the bottom of the piece so when it was attached to the base it would lean back slightly better showing off the pendants

Step 5: Attach

To attach everything i drilled some holes in the base piece and pre-drilled into the pendant holder, then just used screws to attach them, this way should i ever need or want to change it its just a case of undoing 2 screws.

To attach a little business car holder i made, i just used some dowels, again if i wanted to remove the card holder all i had to do was lift it.

Step 6: Finish & Job Done

Couple of coats of spray lacquer sanding at 500 grit in between coats and thats it - job done.

Nice and simple but a great way to display the pendants and necklace's i make and give it a little something extra when i take pictures of them.

I think its going to be great once i get some business cards as well.

Nice and simple only took about 2 hours to make including drying time, but its effective so im happy.

I hope you enjoy!
