Hello everyone!

In this instructables I'll show you how you can make a beautiful wooden racecar out of old recycled skateboards. It's so fun to work with old skateboards, it"s so colorful and you get beautiful results!

Step 1: Preparing the Skateboards

First you need to peel off the griptape. It helps when you heat it up.

Make a rough surface for the glue with the sander.

For these racecars we will use the flattest part of the board: the middle section. So we'll cut off the nose and tail on the bandsaw.

And we will be cutting it into strips of 3cm wide. For one racecar we will need 4 strips. You can glue and clamp them together right now, for 24hours.

Step 2: Shaping the Racecar

Now you need to transfer a pattern of a car you like. You can send me an e-mail at creatiedroom@outlook.com if you want my pattern. You can cut it out on the bandsaw or the scrollsaw.

Now there is a lot of sanding left to do. I did this with the belt sander.

Step 3: The Wheels and the Axles

I drilled two 7mm holes for 6mm wooden dowels (axles).

Make 4 wheels with the holesaw. ø 27mm

You can sand your wheels smooth by putting it in your drill on a bolt. I'm sanding mine up to P240.

Step 4: Assembly

Glue it all together and put some washers in between the wheels and the body.

Cut off the axles on the bandsaw and sand them flush with the wheels.

Now you are ready to race!
