Introduction: Wooden Whistle
How to make a whistle out of a 3/4 inch wooden dowel and a 3/8 inch wooden dowel.
Step 1: Cutting the Whistle to Length
First cut your 3/4 inch dowel to the length that you want.
Step 2: Drill a Hole
Drill a hole in one end about 1 1/2 deep.
Step 3: Cut the Air Exit Hole
Now cut the line a little less that half way down the top of the 3/4 inch dowel
Step 4: Cut the Second Part of the Air Exit Hole
Now cut a slit at a angle.
Step 5: Cutting the Plug
Now cut the 3/8 inch dowel about 2 inches long.
Step 6: File the Plug
Now file the 3/8 inch dowel a little less that half way down. Then insert the plug into the drilled hole and turn and twist the plug until you get a good whistle noise to come out. Then glue it in with some wood glue and cut the access off with a saw.

I totally made this in under 20 minutes using a stick from a hiking trip a few months ago. I love the look. Thanks!
