Introduction: Xbox 360 Faceplate

This shows you how to create your own custom faceplate for your Xbox 360

Step 1:

First begin with removing all the little flaps and power button then placing tape across the front, I used black electrical tape but masking tape would probably work better, working from side to side worked better for me, you can start at the top or from the bottom it doesnt make a difference.

Step 2:

I began by tracing out the letters i wanted using a regular bic ink pen, then using a x-acto blade or utility knife carefully cut around the pattern you've created. Then peel back either the letters themselves or the eccess tape around the letters, I chose the tape around the letters so that the original NFL faceplate would be somewhat visible to give a nice backround look to the letters.

Step 3:

After taking the tape off, I used regular flat black primer (you can get at any hardware store) to spray the whole front of the faceplate, make sure to get all the edges. And remember to also spray the buttons that were removed during step 1.

Step 4:

After letting the paint dry for a few hours you can begin to start peeling the tape off to expose the pattern left behind the tape.

Step 5:

This is what it looks like once all the tape is removed. notice its a little flat because the paint that was used was primer.......

Step 6:

I used this can of clear coat to make it shine a little bit. make sure to let coats dry before apllying more layers, i gave this one about four layers.

Step 7:

This is what the finished product looks like..I came with some good ideas for next time...But for now this came pretty good I think . Now all i need is an xbox 360:. please leave a comment.
