Introduction: Zombie Ice-Scream!

I made Zombie Ice-Scream! A spooky twist to an Alaska Native Traditional Ice-cream. This delicacy, can be made with seal fat, caribou fat, fish, fish eggs, tundra greens, and even flour. However, in my region of Alaska, they use mashed potatoes and crisco as a modern desert. The last photo in my collage is the final product.

Supplies

  • Instant Mashed Potatoes 1/2 Cup made with 3/4 cup of hot water
  • Crisco 1 cup
  • Sugar 1 cup
  • Mixed frozen berries 6 cups
  • Red food dye (optional)

Step 1: Instant Mashed Potatoes

Mix 1/2 cup of instant mashed potatoes with 3/4 cups of water and mix until completely dissolved.

Step 2: Crisco

Add a cup of crisco, and mix with the mashed potatoes.

If you choose to use less crisco, use more mashed potatoes.

Step 3: Sugar and (red Dye)

After mixing the mashed potatoes and the crisco together completely, add the red dye (optional) and then add a cup of sugar. You will mix this until the sugar is dissolved, or for 5 minutes.

Step 4: Berries!

Berries Berries Berries! I used 6 cups of frozen mixed berries. You can use any fruit you want, and you can even add raisins. Sometimes the canned mixed fruit is used if we don't have berries. In Alaska, they usually use tundra berries; crow berries, cloud berries, nagoon berries, and blueberries.
