Introduction: 3 Ways to Paint With Rubber Bands

About: "I am a crafty girl. I make things. Lots of things. I'll keep making things until my fingers fall off. Then I will grab my hot glue gun reattach those suckers & Make More Things." Kathy R. Jeffor…

For this instructable I am going to show you 3 different ways to paint with rubber bands. They all turned out very well.

Step 1: What You Need

For way 1 (The Rubber Roller) you need:

  • 4 or more rubber bands
  • 1 Paint roller
  • Paint (you pick the colors)
  • (paper, a wall, canvas, whatever you want to paint)
  • Paper plate

For way 2 (The Rubber Brush) you need:

  • 4 or more rubber bands
  • 1 pencil
  • paper
  • paint
  • paper plate

For way 3 (Snap Art) you need:

  • 4 or more large rubber bands
  • baking sheet
  • paint
  • paper
  • (optional) Aluminum foil
  • (optional) Paint shirt or apron

Step 2: How to Do Way 1: Part 1 (Rubber Roller)

Wrap you 4 (or more) rubber bands around your roller. Squirt a line of paint on your paper plate, then roll your roller in the paint several times (making sure to coat it good)

Step 3: How to Do Way 1: Part 2 (Rubber Roller)

Now just roll your roller up and down (on your paper or wall) you can over lap with another color if you want. After you are done make sure to wash off your roller and get the paint off. And that is how you do way 1. It is one of my favorite ways. I plan on doing it to my wall sometime.

Step 4: How to Do Way 2 (The Rubber Brush)

Grab 3 or more of your rubber bands and bunch them together, then hold them on your pencil and wrap another rubber band around them attaching them to the pencil. To use just pour your paint on your paper plate dip you rubber band brush into the paint, and then just paint. it turned out really nice.

Step 5: How to Do Way 3 (Snap Art)

So grab you're backing sheet (I covered it in foil you don't have to but the paint can and probably will get on it) Now stretch you're big rubber bands around it. Slip you're paper under the rubber bands. Now put paint the rubber bands and pull them up and release. (This is a good activity for kids, just messy)
