Introduction: AUTOMATIC SCREW TIGHTENER

The machine is made from readily available materials from home,its is strictly DIY which can be use in personal and school projects. The Screw tightener and loosener makes it easy to loose and tight screws in home appliances even without electricity.It works on the principle of changing the polarity of a DC MOTOR.

Step 1: MATERIALS NEEDED

As I mentioned earlier, all the materials needed can be easily get at home.

FOR THIS PROJECT, YOU WILL NEED:

1. Ply wood

2. 9V Battery

3. Syringe Tube

4. Connecting Wires

5. Electric Motor

6. Push Switch

7. Glue

8. Saw for cutting the Ply wood

9. Screw Driver of your choice (It can be changed depending on the type you need at a particular time).

GET ALL YOUR MATERIALS READY AND WE ARE GOOD TO GO

Step 2: CUTTING THE PLYWOOD

Cut the plywood according to the figure above using saw or any other convenient cutting materials.Make sure all the edges are well map out.

Step 3: CUTTING AND ATTACHING THE SYRINGE TUBE

Cut the Syringe tube according to the image.

Use two plastic plate to attach any screw driver type of your choice making sure it is well attached to the syringe tube using a support.

Use a strong glue and rivet to attach the whole syringe to the rotating part of an Electric Motor, in my own case I use a Rotor groove from a Radio.

After that Attach the Whole thing to the pointed edge of the two already cut Ply wood

Step 4: ATTACHING THE SWITCH

Attach the Push switch to a flat plastic plate according to the diagram above.

Fit the switch to the down part of the Ply wood, connecting the wires to the electric,

Step 5: FITTING THE BATTERY

By Creating a space for the Battery at the end of the Ply Wood, connect the Battery temporarily and make sure the Electric motor polarity can be easily change from the battery.

To check for the efficiency of the Machine, Pressing the switch will cause the screw driver to move in a particular direction and changing the polarity from the battery will make it to move in the opposite direction.
