Introduction: Bevel Gauge Holder

About: I hope i can show you that you really dont need to be a master craftsman to create and build great projects, and hopefully inspire you to start making yourself. I will try upload a video every Monday but due …

Ive been re fitting my workshop / shed, and a big part of what i needed was proper tool storage.

I dont own that many tools so i decided to hand all of my most used / important tools above my workbench.

So heres a quick look at how i made a bevel gauge holder.

Hope you like it.

Step 1: Layout

So i wanted this to be "floating" on my tool wall, and take up as little space as possible.

I basically used two bits of scrap, one square for the back and a small strip that would fit inside the slot on the bevel gauge.

Step 2: Glue & Secure

Once i had my peices lay out, i gave them a quick sand and glued them in place.

To secure the holder to the wall i drilled some pilot holes that would accept 4 small nails, cut the head off the nails and used them as a guide on the wall, then drilled some more pilot holes on the wall itself and pressed the holder in. Basically using metal nails as dowels to hold the gauge in place and make it look "floating"

Nice and simple but it works well.

Hope you like it.
