Step 1: SHAPE THE PAPER

Make a square piece of paper by folding one corner over to the opposite side. Cut off the excess strip of paper. Fold the remaining triangle in half, forming a smaller triangle.

Step 2: FOLD INTO a SMALLER SQUARE

Open the paper to form a square. Fold the square in half to form a rectangle, and fold the rectangle in half to make another, smaller square.

Step 3: FOLD CORNERS TO CENTERS

Open all folds. Fold each corner into the center. Turn the paper over and fold the corners in the opposite directioninto the center of this opposite side.

Step 4: MAKE a DIAMOND

Fold the paper in half. With the opening of the fold facing up, pinch the bottom corners and push inward, creating a diamond. Pull the loose flaps out.

Step 5: CREATE YOUR FORTUNES

Lay the cutie-catcher flat. Label each of the four outside flaps with a short Valentines Day saying. Turn it over and label each of the eight smaller flaps with any number. Flip these flaps up and write a Valentines Day message or fortune on each of the eight inside flaps.
