Introduction: Chewy Chocolate Brownie Cookies

This recipe is for great tasting chocolate chip cookies made in a homemade brownie batter type dough!

First things first, assemble your ingredients! You'll need the following things....
2/3 cup Crisco solid
1 and 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 Tablespoon water
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
1 and 1/2 cups flour
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups semi sweet mini morsel chocolate chips

Step 1: Cream!

The first step is to cream together your first four ingredients.

An important tip to help in measuring out your Crisco solid is to use a 2 cup measuring cup. Fill it with 1 cup of water and then add Crisco solid until it hits the 1 and 2/3 cup mark when the Crisco is submerged. Drain the water from the measuring cup and scoop the leftover Crisco into your mixing bowl!

I prefer to use a Kitchenaid mixer because it mixes the ingredients better, but any electric mixer will work!

Step 2: Get It Light and Fluffy!

So....Cream together your Crisco solid (2/3 cup), brown sugar (1 and 1/2 cup), water (1 tablespoon), and vanilla (1 teaspoon) until mixed well!

Step 3: Eggs!

Then add your eggs (2)! Mix well!

Step 4: Dry Ingredients!

Next add your dry ingredients! Flour (1 and 1/2 cup), cocoa powder (1/3 cup), salt (1/2 teaspoon), and baking soda (1/4 teaspoon)!

Step 5: The Dough!

This is what your dough should look like pre-chips!

Step 6: And....the Chips!!

Use a spatula and stir in your semi-sweet mini morsel chocolate chips (2 cups)!! It works better if you use a spatula than to use the mixer, but the choice is up to you!

Step 7: Cookie Sheets

Lightly grease your cookie sheets and drop dough onto them by the spoonfuls.

Step 8: Good Looking!

Bake the cookies for 7-9 minutes at 375 degrees. They should look like this!

Step 9: Cool....

Let the cookies sit on the cookie sheets and cool for 3-5 minutes, remove and place on paper towels to finish cooling.

Step 10: Enjoy!

Once cooled, enjoy!
