DIY Quiver

Hello and welcome to my first project, which will be all about how to make your own quiver. This quiver will be made out of a very different quality than you would expect. Its gonna be made out of eco-friendly and more adaptable material: vegan leather, also known as Snap Pap.

Since I own bow and arrow, I have decided to create this project, since my quiver at the moment lacks in quality. So without talking too much, let's get started with the materials.

Materials

- Vegan leather (the length of the quiver depends on your arrows, however mine are about 73 cm long so my quiver will have a length of 50cm.) My width will be at the top 30cm and at the bottom 10cm since my quiver has a 'V' shape.

- Scissors/cutter knife (this material is easy enough to cut through with these tools).

- Pen/Pencil and/or other drawing tools when sketching outline (knowing where to cut).

- Wood Glue

- Ruler

Step 1: Gathering Materials

As you can see in the picture, my SnapPap has a size of 50 x 150 cm, which allows me to do another quiver, a little smaller.

To see the comparison I have included an arrow to see how much it would look out of the quiver.

Remember to use to the length of the quiver, that fits you best, since it all depends on the length of your arrows.

Step 2: Planning

I have spent a lot of time to plan the length and width of each individual side of the quiver, however, I came to the conclusion that this was not so important.

What is very important is that since you need to cut it out and fold it in half, that you draw this also like that. This means, if you have 30 cm at the top and 10 cm at the bottom, on your design you will need to sketch 60 cm top and 20 cm bottom, since this is the quiver UNFOLDED.

After that, I sketched all of this on the SnapPap. (You can easily see pencil on this type of material).

Step 3: Cutting Out

Important is: check twice, cut once.

If you do not have much of the SnapPap then this will be VERY helpful since I made the mistake cutting out one of the quivers too short at the bottom and therefore needed to do it again. However, I found a good idea of how to also use the second quiver: at the side of my waist. Which means: one quiver (the bigger one at my back, and the second at my waist).

Step 4: Add-on

This is something I would like to add to my quiver, to give it a personal touch. Since I am a big Assassins Creed fan, I decided to glue the logo on top of my biggest quiver.

Step 5: Gluing

This is definitely one of the most important steps since a hot glue gun will NOT WORK.

Wood glue will WORK however, you need clamps to keep it together.

If this does not work then I suggest the strongest glue you can find (I used superglue, which dries immediately).

Step 6: Add the Strap/belt

I decided to add a belt to the quiver, so you can put it on.

For this step, the glue can be wood glue, however, the stronger and smoother the surface of the belt is, the stronger glue you need. Therefore, keep the superglue at hand.

As you can see, I marked the place on the belt, where I would put some glue and tried on the belt without the quiver to test where to put the mark.
