Introduction: DIY Glowstone Lamp

I got this idea after I watched Kipkay's video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQgucXm0Sg0). I really love the idea but the lighting method is not nice. So I thought I can redesign the project and come up with this idea. Basically, it is a mood lamp that has cover of a minecraft's glowstone.

P.S: Sorry about my bad english!

Step 1: What You Need

- 6 glowstone template (you can choose the size, I'm making a small one)
- some cardboard
- scissors
- knife
- a small mood lamp (I forgot to take picture)

Also, print the template on thin paper or light can't go through

Step 2: Make Cutting Template

Cut out one template out and cut of the light gem. I decided to cut 3 lightest color.

Please note not to cut pixels on the edge of the template or else the gluing part would be impossible.

Tip: If you flip the template over and bring near a light source, you can see where to cut.

Step 3: Cut Out the Pieces

Trace the cutting template on some cardboard and cut them out (I'm not very good at this so it look kinda ugly)
Then glue the template so that the holes line up with the gem pixels
The back will be a square with no hole and also have a template glue on
You will need four pieces with holes (3 on the side and 1 on the top) and 1 piece without hole (for the back)

Step 4: Glue the Cube

Glue the cube together. You can glue it so it look like in the game.
After that, cut 1 square for the bottom, poke hole and glue the lamp in (forgot to take picture).

Step 5: Finish!

Just plug the light in a socket and you have your night lamp

You can also choose a brighter lamp for better result
