These step-by-step instructions will guide you through the basics of creating a phone stand using Tinkercad and preparing it for 3D printing.

Tinkercad is a free web based CAD program: www.tinkercad.com

Step 1: Create Base Shapes

1. Drag and drop a wedge onto the workplane

2. Scale the wedge to about 16mm x 18mm

3. Adjust the height of the wedge to about 31mm

4. Drag and drop a box onto the workplane

5. Scale the box to about 17mm x 18mm

6. Adjust the height of the box to about 1mm

Step 2: Form Base

1. Place and align the box and wedge to where they are touching and intersecting slightly

2. Select the box and wedge (ctrl+a) and press group in the top right corner

Step 3: Final Base

1. Drag and drop another box onto the workplane

2. Scale the box to about 5mm x 18mm

3. Adjust the height of the box to about 3mm

4. Raise the box 1mm off of workplane

5. Place the box on top of base of other shape as shown in the image above

6. Select all the shapes (ctrl+a) and press group in the top right corner

You now have a phone stand. Feel free to scale the phone stand up to accommodate your phone more comfortably. This design is scaled down for a quick print time.

Step 4: Add a Personal Touch

1. Drag and drop a shape onto the workplane

2. Rotate the shape as needed

3. Raise the shape off the workplane as needed

4. Place in desired location

5. Select all shapes(ctrl+a) and group all shapes together

Step 5: 3D Print

1. Once design is complete select Design from the upper left corner

2. Click on menu option Download for 3D Printing

3. Select .STL button

4. The file will now appear in the downloads folder and can be opened in a 3D printing software
