Egg Half Boil

Introduction: Egg Half Boil

I'm a cool Techie girl.

The Egg Half Boil is a typical South Indian Recipe which is made by directly breaking the egg on the pan and cooking it partially. This is a very easy and healthy breakfast recipe. And the best part is that you can even put it in between slices of bread and enjoy it as a sandwich.

In this Instructable, I'll show you how to prepare the perfect Indian Style Half Boil. Let's see how it's done.

Step 1: Ingredients

For this simple recipe, you'll need the following Ingredients in your shopping list:

  • Egg
  • Salt
  • Pepper Powder
  • Red Chili Powder
  • Oil

Step 2: Break the Egg

Heat a pan on medium flame and add just about 1 Tablespoons of oil on it.

Now break an egg carefully on the heated pan such that the yolk remains at somewhere near the center of the egg white.

This part is the most important part of the recipe because if you go wrong anywhere in this step, then the half boil is of no use.

Step 3: Season the Egg

Now it's time to season the eggs. The recipe is known to be spicy, after all, that's what makes it Indian.

After breaking the egg on to the pan, while it's still moist, sprinkle some salt and pepper on it. This is the classic seasoning, but you can optionally sprinkle it with some red chili powder or paprika.

Step 4: Let It Cook

Now after seasoning the egg, you have to let it cook till all the moisture content on the outer surface is evaporated.

You will also see the sides loosen up when you give the pan a gentle shake.

That's when you know the half boil is done.

Step 5: Serving

When it comes to serving the half boil, there are many options. You can serve this tasty egg as it is by just garnishing it with some coriander leaves.

Or you can put it in between two slices of bread and enjoy it as a sandwich. You can also put it on a hot paratha and make an egg wrap out of it.

The one thing that's most amazing about this recipe is that it looks nicely cooked from the outside, but on the inside, the yolk is partially cooked and kind of a gelatinous form like in poached eggs.

Bon Apetit!!
