Introduction: Floating Head Collage

About: I'm a happy Movavi user and I'm glad to share some advice on how to do stuff using their programs

This is Halloween! This is Halloween! The most creepy day of the year is just around the corner! If you don’t have a costume, you can scare people online. And by this, I mean spooky photos on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and so on. How about a missing or floating head? Today I will show you how to do it with the help of Movavi Photo Editor.

Step 1: Preparation

What you will need:

  • The software: https://www.movavi.com/photo-editor/
  • A photo that fits this idea. Pictures of you lying on the floor, sitting on a bench or standing with a stretched arm will work best.
  • A little bit of patience

Step 2:

Go to the tab called Copy/Paste. Select the head using the Lasso tool. Copy the area and paste it, nicely placing the head next to the body. Add a shadow and adjust the blur to make it more realistic.

Step 3:

Go to the Object Removal tab. Use Brush, Lasso, or Magic Wand to select the head once again.

  • Brush freely selects objects
  • Lasso selects the object by tracing the outline
  • Magic Wand selects areas of the same color

Click Start Erasing and wait a little bit.
The removal won’t be perfect if the object is too big. That’s why we will cover the artifacts with the help of the Stamp tool.

Step 4:

You’re almost done! Enhance the Halloween atmosphere by adding one or two filters. Click Effects and choose the one you like. For instance, I used Méliès from the Retro collection.

That's it!

The tools from the instruction can also be used to make any other creepy collages - a missing limb, multiple heads, eerie clones, and so on. Good luck and happy Halloween!
