Introduction: How to Make Vegan Granola Bars

Did you ever get frustrated when you are in school and everyone has their meal except for you, only because you are vegan? Often schools only sell vegetarian food but not vegan food and if that's the case you just can't eat anything. That's why I will show you how to make Vegan Granola Bars within 15 minutes, so that you always have a snack with you.

You only need 5 ingredients:

- rolled oats (120g)

- pitted dates (deglet nour or medjool, 150g)

- roasted, unsalted almonds (100g)

- creamy peanut butter (80g)

- agave nectar (100g)

In addition, you will need a mixing bowl, cooking pot, a spoon, backing dish (I used a plastic box), plastic wrap, knife and a food processor. If you don't have one, you can just use a chopping board and a knife instead.

Step 1: Chop the Dates and Prepare the Mixing Bowl

As I said in the introduction, you can use a food processor but I didn't have one so I just chopped the dates into small pieces. When you're done the dates should look like in the picture above. When you did that you can put them in the mixing bowl and add the almonds and rolled oats.

Step 2: Warm Up Agave Sirup and Peanut Butter

For this step you need the cooking pot. Put the peanut butter and the agave sirup in it and warm it up. You should constantly stir the mixture otherwise it will stick to the bottom of the cooking pot. After 1 minute you can pour it over the ingredients in the mixing bowl and mix it. Don't forget to disperse the dates! If you do the mixture won't stick together later on.

Step 3: Put It in the Fridge

When you think you're done mixing then you can put a plastic wrap into your baking dish (I used a plastic box) and put a layer of the mixture on it. Now you need something flat to press it down so later on it won't fall apart. After that you can cover it with a plastic wrap and put it in the fridge for 20 minutes (I left it in the fridge over night).

Take it out of the fridge and put it on the chopping board. Then cut it into pieces, you can decide how big a piece should be.

Step 4: You Are Done!

See how fast and easy this was. Now you have your own snack and of course you can share with your friends! Enjoy your snack!
