How to Make a Mocktail Shirley Temple

Supplies

Cocktail glass

Small plate

Sharp knife

Lemon

¼ cup of white sugar

¼ cup of lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage

3 ice cubes

1 maraschino cherry (per glass)

1 ½ tablespoons of non-alcoholic grenadine

Step 1: To Rim the Glass

1. Pour ¼ cup sugar onto a plate
2. Sugar should coat the entire plate evenly
3. Set the plate aside
4. Slice the lemon
5. Cut the lemon slice into four equal quarters
6. Moisten the rim of the glass with one quarter of the lemon
7. Grasp the glass by the stem
8. Turn the glass upside down
9. Gently push the rim of the glass into the sugar about ¼ inch.

Step 2: To Make the Mocktail

1. Remove the stem, if necessary, of the maraschino cherry
2. Place maraschino cherry at the bottom of the glass
3. Pour the 3 ice cubes into the glass, on top of the cherry
4. Carefully pour the ¼ cup of lemon-lime beverage into the glass
5. Add the 1 ½ tablespoons of grenadine
6. Drink safely
