How to Transfer Data Between Windows/Mac and Raspberry Pi Via WiFi

Whenever you try to transfer a file between your Windows/Mac PC and Raspberry Pi, it is a bit time consuming because you need to send it to your SD card first, then insert that card to Pi. So a pretty boring and traditional format of file transfer. How about making it easier?

In this Instructables, we have discussed how to transfer file between your Windows/Mac platform and Pi via WiFi network. So let's begin.

Step 1: Make Sure You Know How to Use Raspberry Pi

Step 2: Download and Install FileZilla

1. Browse FileZilla. Click on the first search result.
2. You will see 2 options: Download FileZilla Client and Download FileZilla Server. Select the Client and download it.
3. Install it. It's easy. Check the video if you wish.

Step 3: Pair With Raspberry Pi

Now you will have to note the IP address of Raspberry Pi.

So go to your admin page router -> LAN setup and find the IP address. For us, it is 192.168.0.105.

Write that IP in the Host box, give the Username as pi, Password as raspberry and Port as 22.

Click on Quickconnect. Check the video if you want.

Step 4: You Are Done. Send Your File.

To the left, you can see Local Site which is your computer and to the right, the Raspberry Pi platform.

So select any file, drag and drop it in the Pi section. Once the transfer is complete, you will get a notification. (See the video).
