Introduction: How to Make a Solar Panel 2015 Part 1

About: 18 years old. very into electronics, built a computer and rc planes etc. Have been good with automotive and going to collage after high school for construction.

I will show you the easiest way I know how to make a solar panel. This is the fastest and best way I know. These solar panels will come out to be about 55 watts with power drop. Just for a little information on me. I am a 18 year old who has had much experience with electronics such as build a computer, make RC planes, and etc.

Step 1: Preping the Tabbing Wire

You will want to cut all wire to length with a sharp pair if scissors because the longer the 40 watt or more soldering iron is on and at full heat it will turn black faster which leads to more cleaning.

Step 2: Prep the Cells

Use a #186 rosin flux pen which is a must and run down the up and down lines on the front of the solar cell. Next you will solder the end of the wire down to the cell and then run the iron and wire down the front of the cell. When going down the front of the panel you should go at a steady pace and follow the bubble of solder on the wire making sure to stay on the white line of the cells. Do this with all cells

Step 3: Layout of Cells

Because we have all the fronts of the cells laid out we can turn them all over to there back side. After spacing the cells out with spacers or however you want to evenly space them out. Use a clear tape in the center of the cells to keep them from moving. Make sure you are soldering the cells front to back like watch batteries. It should look something like this when done. Keep going till you get to 9 and repeat 3 more times.
