Introduction: Jam Crumble

The Jam Crumble has a sentimental meaning to me. My mother and I used to do this one together when I was a child. Moreover today, this is the dessert I bake the most when I meet my friends. Once you get the steps, it is pretty easy and quick to bake it.

Crunchy the dough, tender the fruits ! Enjoy !

Step 1: Ingredients

one jar of red fruit jam (like mixed berry, I use a jar of blackberry jam)
5 (quite big) Apples
80g / 1/8 lbs of butter
250g / 3 cups of flour
1 cup and (then) 4 tablespoons of sugar
some lemon juice
cinnamon

You need :

a pie dish or other baking dish
a bowl

Step 2: Step 1

Preheat the even (180°C / 356°F).

Begin by peeling apples, dice them. Then boil them with 1 cup of sugar, add some lemon juice in order to avoid your apples to get brown. Stop when apples are tender.

Step 3: Step 2

In separate bowl, put the rest of the sugar (4 tablespoons of sugar), the salt, some cinnamon if you like it, the flour and, progressively, the melted butter together (in this order for the butter) and mix it with a fork AND ONLY A FORK in order to have a granular dough (if you don't, you will get a homogeneous dough, and your crumble will be tough).

Step 4: Step 3

Finally,

for the 1st layer : spread the apples in the bottom of your plate
for the 2nd layer : spread the red fruit jam over
and the 3rd layer : crumble your granny dough on the top (you have to use your little fingers for this one).

Step 5: Step 4

Put your dish in the even (180°C / 356°F) for around 30 minutes. When the dough has turned golden, it's ready.
Serve it warm, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
