This is a simple process to make a midori style TN, everyone can make one by following several simple steps below.

Step 1: Materials & Tools

To get start, you need to prepare some materials and tools:

Material:

  • Leather - here we use crazy horse leather, a kind of cowhide, with size litter larger than 21.5 x 25cm
  • Refill - 3 pieces with size 11x21cm
  • Elastic Band - about 1.5m length

Tools:

  • Scissors
  • Cutter
  • Ruler
  • Awl
  • Hammer
  • Hold Punch

Step 2: Cut Leather & Punch Holes

Here we are going to make a 12 x 21.5cm notebook, so we need a leather around 25 x 21.5cm.

Measure out and cut with a ruler and cutter, then make 5 punching markers on back of the leather according to the last image showing, now use hole punch and hammer to get 5 holes.

The elastic bands is 2mm thick, so I used 2mm hole punch.

Step 3: Set Elastic Band for the Cover

First cut a 50cm length elastic band to connect the 4 holes on both sides, this band is used to fix notebooks.

Then cut a 30cm length elastic band and insert into the middle hole, it's used to wrap the cover.

Step 4: Set Elastic Band for Notebooks

Use a 50cm length elastic band to fix 2 notebooks through the centre.

Step 5: Set the Notebooks

First use the 3rd notebook insert from the outer layer elastic band, then insert the fixed 2 notebooks under the 3rd notebook and adjust them to a prefect look, wrap the elastic band and done.

See, it's very easy, right? Now it's your turn, action.
