Pico de Gallo, which literally means "rooster peak", is a Mexican salad prepared as a side for many snacks and appetizers such as tacos, quesadillas, sopes, and molletes.
This delicious salad is made up of fresh tomatoes, coriander, onion and avocado creating the perfect mix to delight your taste.
Step 1: Ingredients
- 1 avocado
- 3 tomatoes
- Half onion
- Sea salt
Step 2: Wash Tomatoes
You should always wash tomatoes before eating them as you usually do (only use water).
Step 3: Wash and Disinfect Coriander
Wash coriander (even if it comes from your garden it may contain soil) and disinfect it.
Step 4: Chop Tomatoes and Onion
Chop tomatoes and onion in small squares.
Step 5: Chop Coriander
Chop only the coriander leaves. The rest will not be used
Step 6: Chop Avocado
An easy way to chop avocado is to remove the seed and then mark with a knife squares on it. Then you only need a spoon to take the squares out (be careful).
Step 7: Mix, Add Sea Salt
Mix all the ingredients softly (avocado does not need to get smashed) and add sea salt
Step 8: Serve and Enjoy
Your Pico de Gallo is ready! Enjoy it with your favorite snack or appetizer
