Introduction: Rubber Band Guitar
I am Anthony Morris, a 12 year old boy in 7th grade, and I made the Rubber Band Guitar. The goal here is to add rubber bands to a tissue box to make four different pitches, or notes on the music scale. The Rubber Band Guitar can play D2, E2, A2 and G2. Enter https://www.alexdemartos.es/wtuner/ in the search bar to check the tune of the guitar (or click/tap the link shown and make sure your computer has a microphone). You just pluck the rubber bands instead of guitar strings. I thought of the Rubber Band Guitar from my dad playing the guitar, so I thought I could try and make one myself.
To make this, follow the following instructions:
Step 1: Get the supplies needed
Step 2: Empty the tissue box and get rid the plastic (the best you can) on the top of the tissue box
Step 3: Take some card board and make sure it's the right length and width (same width, or similar width, of the tissue box)
Step 4: Tape the cardboard to the tissue box
Step 5: One of the cardboard must be cut a little bit (the one at the tip of the tissue box)
Step 6: Take rubber bands and tape them on to the tissue box (at different lengths)
Step 7: Test rubber bands to make sure they play the four notes required (D2, E2, A2 and G2)
Step 8: If the notes are right, make sure the Rubber Band Guitar is stable enough to withstand a good, strong pluck at the rubber bands
The end result should sound similar to a real guitar. Thank you for testing my idea for yourself (or yourselves, if more than 1 person).
