Introduction: Santa's Trash Cookies

Hey guys! Christmas is fast approaching us and what better way to get in the mood for Christmas than to bake cookies! Around this time of year I love to bake all kinds of food and cookies are a must right after Thanksgiving. Today I am showing you how to make Santa's Trash cookies (strange name) but its a cookies that is sweet and salty all in one, so if you're craving some junk food this might just be your cookie (this recipe yields a hard cookie not a soft chewy one). This is a fun cookie to make with the family and kids will get a kick out of this one! You can enjoy some of Santa's Trash Cookies during the Holiday season and leave the leftovers out for Santa. Step 1: Ingredients and Tools

Ingredients
  • ¾ Cup unsalted Butter (room temp)
  • ½ Cup granulated Sugar
  • ½ Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 2 ¼ Cup all-purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • 1/3 Cup Potato Chips (crushed)
  • 1/3 Cup Pretzels (crushed)
  • ¼ Cup semi-sweet Chocolate Chips
  • ¼ Cup Holiday M&Ms
  • 3 Tablespoons Holiday sprinkles
  • Flaky sea salt, for garnish

Step 2: The Dough: Cream Butter and Sugar

Begin by preheating the oven to 350ºF and line two cookie sheets with parchment. In a large bowl cream together butter and both of your sugars until light and fluffy. Then mix in egg and vanilla

Step 3: Dry Ingredients

In another large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Add dry ingredients to wet and mix until smooth.

Step 4: Add the "Trash"

Gently stir in potato chips, pretzels, chocolate chips, M&Ms and sprinkles.

Step 5: Scoop

With a ice cream scoop, gently scoop and make tablespoon size balls of dough. Slightly press them down onto the cookie sheet and sprinkle with sea salt.

Step 6: Top With More "Trash"

Top them with extra crushed potatoes chips, crushed pretzels, chocolate chips, M&Ms, and sprinkles.

Step 7: Bake and Cool

Bake until edges are just starting to get golden, 7 to 8 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool 2 to 3 minutes, then transfer to cooling rack to cool completely.

Step 8: Enjoy!

Enjoy some of Santa's Trash Cookies or simply leave them out for Santa to enjoy ;-)
