Introduction: Sunny Pie Appetizer

This tutorial will show you how to make a "sunny pie" appetizer. :)

Step 1: Ham and Cheese Pie

You will need...:

-2 phyllo dough or puff pastry sheets
-shredded emmental cheese

-2 egg yolks

-sesame seeds

Place a glass (upside down) in the center of the puff pastry sheet. Sprinkle with shredded cheese.

Slice a crescent shape in ham.

Place ham around the center of puff pastry sheet.

Step 2:

Cover ham with the second puff pastry sheet and use egg yolks make them stick together.

Cut in 16 slices, and twist each of them. Cover with leftovers yolks and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Bake for 12 minutes in a 365 degrees F oven (180 degrees C).

Step 3: Pesto and Cheese Pie

For this step you will need:

-2 phyllo dough or puff pastry sheets

-shredded Emmental cheese

-shredded Parmesan cheese

-basil pesto

-2 egg yolks

-sesame seeds

Place a glass (upside down) in the center of the puff pastry sheet. Spread pesto on puff pastry sheet. Sprinkle with shredded Emmental and Parmesan cheese.

Cover pesto with the second puff pastry sheet and use the egg yolks make them stick together.
Cut in 32 slices, and twist each of them. Cover with leftovers yolks and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Bake for 12 minutes in a 365 degrees F oven (180 degrees C).

Step 4: Enjoy!

    This is great! It also has the capability to hold various fillings to cater to taste. Great job :) I want to try a cheesy spinach and artichoke filling :)
