Baking tray
Baking paper
Makes 3 very large cookies
To start, preheat the oven to 180C or 170C fan oven.
Step 2:
Cream butter, white and brown sugar until it is light and fluffy.
Add the eggs into the mix one at a time beat well,
Stir in vanilla.
Combine the flour, baking soda and salt, then stir into the creamed mixture.
Mix in the chocolate chips.
Step 3:
Dollop spoonfuls onto the prepared baking tray. Put some flour on the dough then flatten them with a fork.
Step 4:
Bake until fairly crisp, approximately 10-20 minutes (time depending on size of cookies). Let sit for 5 minutes and then transfer to rack to cool.
Step 5:
If the cookies are moulded together like the ones in the photo just get a knife and cut round them to separate them.
Step 6:
Once the cookies are cooled it is time to ice them!
To make the icing you will need to sieve the icing sugar into a bowl then add the water. If the icing is too dry or too thick add a bit more water.
Once you have made the icing put a bit aside in a bowl, food colour that icing.
Step 7:
You will need to make a piping bag, to do this get a glad bag and cut a small piece off the corner of the bag.
If you want a thick web cut the hole a bit bigger (this will require more icing).
Step 8:
Now comes the fun part! fill your piping bag with the coloured icing then close the top.
With your iced cookies pipe a spiral around them using your piping bag then get a skewer/stake and, starting from the middle pull the icing out towards the edges. You can do this as many times as you like.
Step 9:
Now you have your lovely spider web chocolate chip cookies. Enjoy eating them!
